Such needs require the implementation of comprehensive and sustainable tourism management models, from a multidimensional perspective.

The proposed objective is to elaborate a diagnosis of Miramar (Buenos Aires) that considers social needs and management trends in order to analyze a scenario of the city as a sustainable tourist destination. The methodology consisted in performing a descriptive evaluation analysis through diagnosis of needs and integral conditions of urban management and a trend analysis through the modeling of a scenario considering the environmental sustainability capacity of the city, the dimensions of sustainability and the principles of sustainable cities.

The results determined that Miramar’s sustainability depends on improving inter-municipal and public-private coordination and integration, systematizing, and adapting interventions, formalizing participation and stimulating environmental awareness among the population for the internalization of pro-environmental values.
2024-06-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Marcela Bertoni, María José López, Julieta Maffioni, Valeria Faginas, Joaquín Testa https://revistas.uexternado.edu.co/index.php/tursoc/article/view/9604 Importance of Risk Management in Ecotourism Parks in Mexico for the Fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goals 2024-06-25T12:07:27-05:00 Paulina Magaña Olivé paulina.magana@upaep.edu.mx Jesús Eduardo García Vázquez jesuseduardo.garcia@upaep.edu.mx Jhon Harold Peña Cometta jhoncometta@gmail.com Valeria Constanza Belén Ruiz Oliva valeriaconstanza.ruiz@upaep.edu.mx Luis Cuautle Gutiérrez luis.cuautle@upaep.edu
This research article was developed based on the approach of the following variables, referring to the perception, in ecotourism parks, of emergency equipment, quality of personal protective equipment, state of the infrastructure of the facilities, cleanliness of the facilities, enough employees to serve visitors, safety signs in the facilities, health prohibitions and history of accidents recorded in ecotourism parks. These variables were evaluated using a statistical methodology. The instrument used to collect information was a survey, which was applied to students from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla. At REFAUTS, tourists use the area of two small bays to carry out different activities and share these areas with dolphins. Therefore, the aim of this study was to characterize tourist flow at REFAUTS and identify which areas tourists most commonly use. The tourist flow in REFAUTS was measured via a survey conducted between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm and the areas most used by tourists were identified. REFAUTS receives over 1400 visitors per day, mostly between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, which corresponds to the dolphin’s active time in the bays. Different activities such as surfing, kayaking, standup paddleboarding, bathing and dolphin watching are practiced in the same area; this overlapping can cause socio-environmental conflicts and negative effects on dolphins. A zoning plan is recommended to determine which areas should be used by tourists and establish areas exclusively for dolphins.
2024-06-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Diana Carvalho De Freitas, Josivânia Emanuelly Azevedo Dos Santos, Maria Mayara Dos Santos Silva, Gessica Rafaelly Dantas Da Silva, Vitor De Oliveira Lunardi, Diana Gonçalves Lunardi https://revistas.uexternado.edu.co/index.php/tursoc/article/view/9606 An Approach to the Public Tourism Policies in Iberoamerica: Its Implementation and the Role of their Participants 2024-06-25T12:07:22-05:00 Priscilla Corona Ortiz pris.corona2018@gmail.com Cecilia Cadena Inostroza ccadena@cmq.edu.mx Lilia Zizumbo Villarreal lzv04@yahoo.com
The state of knowledge on the implementation of public tourism policies in Ibero-American countries between 2005 and 2020 is analyzed to identify elements that influence their result. To make this, a review of scientific articles on practical cases was carried out, it was done in four academic search base dates, and tried to identify the categories of government: leadership, coordination, administrative procedures, and negotiation capacity of the actors, since we consider that these elements, they are crucial to policy outcomes.

The search allowed us to identify that there were better results when the participants formulated joint strategies and, mainly, when the community played a relevant role in public decisions. In contrast, they had worse results those cases in which political and economic interests prevailed, which led to the local community taking second place. It is concluded that the identified categories help to better understand the result of public tourism policies.
2024-06-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Priscilla Corona Ortiz, Cecilia Cadena Inostroza, Lilia Zizumbo Villarreal https://revistas.uexternado.edu.co/index.php/tursoc/article/view/9607 Variables and Indicators for Evaluating the Level of Development of Cuban Tourist Destinations 2024-06-25T12:07:20-05:00 Inara Esther Márquez Hernández inaraesther@gmail.com Yoan Hernández Flores yoan961122@gmail.com Lisandra Torres Hechavarría lisandra_torres@ftur.uh.cu
Currently, the analysis of variables and indicators that describe the evolution of a tourist destination allows diagnosing its state of development and contributes to its planning in order to achieve the objectives set. It also aims to evaluate their resilience, defined as the ability to adapt and recover from adversity by developing social and academic capabilities in response to extreme stress, in this case, caused by the pandemic. A survey was conducted in 18 countries and 162 universities in the Latin American and Caribbean region, specifically in tourism and hospitality schools, to understand the resilience process developed by HEIs during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 260 responses were collected. HEIs reacted to the contingency by rapidly adapting their teaching, administration, and evaluation processes to a remote mode. The vulnerability of the teaching-learning process was due to the lack of both student connectivity and teachers’ technological skills, which were two significant obstacles to academic continuity.
2024-06-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rafael Covarrubias Ramírez, Carlos Benjamín Ricaurte Yépez, Ileana Ochoa Llamas, Grace Maribel Parra Vintimilla https://revistas.uexternado.edu.co/index.php/tursoc/article/view/9593 The Diagnosis of Nature Tourism in Magdalena Caldense (Caldas, Colombia) as an Opportunity for Community Development 2024-06-25T12:08:08-05:00 Carlos Arturo Tamayo Sánchez casanchezt@sena.edu.co Ximena Morales Quintero ximena.turismomanizales@gmail.com Santiago Benavides Restrepo saintbena@gmail.com
In 2021, the RENABBIO research group of the National Learning Service, SENA, in the municipality of La Dorada, Caldas, Colombia, carried out a research process around the diagnosis of nature tourism in the Magdalena caldense subregion, a qualitative study that had the opportunity to learn through local communities, tourism service providers in the territory and the preparation of an inventory of tourist attractions how this activity is developed, its needs, impacts, opportunities, benefits and the actual state of the touristic attractive of nature.

The collection and the analysis of information were based on the field diagnostic, in addition, the product of touristic stocktaking was based on the methodology of “Ministerio de Comercio Industria y Turismo, 2010”. Visitors and residents were selected through non-probabilistic quota sampling, by mans of the stratified method of proportional affiliation. A sample of 261 visitors and 337 residents was established, who were in the city of Salcedo. After empirical research, the quality of the components of the image and the correlations of the latent variables are analyzed. The relationship between the cognitive component and the dimension of competitive identity is also structured. In addition, it is identified whether residents have a better perception of the image and the brand than visitors. For its development, tools from grounded theory and the updated Prisma 2020 guide were used, combined with the analysis of the associated regulatory references. The objective of the present work is to analyze the scientific production of the valorization of the landscape for the identification of its application in the conservation and preservation as a patrimonial asset in front of the tourist activity. A systematic literature review was chosen, where scientific articles were collected. The results show that the landscape, in addition to being part of a humanized environment, has a natural and cultural essence where historical and economic aspects are valued for its conservation. Criminal capital is considered a sui generis expression of the accumulation of capital under licit and illicit modalities. To know its impact, non-linear regression models were applied in tourist influx and economic spillover; and to determine such impact on residents, a socio-spatial segregation index was calculated. The results show that, in the city of Zacatecas-Guadalupe, Mexico during the period 1986-2020, criminal acts such as drug dealing and threats made tourists more aware but are still not enough to affect their influx or, therefore, the tourism economy. The public security strategy against violence protects tourists. In this mixed approach research, the ecotourism vocation of the municipalities that practice “ecotourism” in Cundinamarca is determined. To this end, a new index is formulated which, unlike others, relates environmental, social, economic, and local development variables. After reviewing studies, reports, and development plans, as well as conducting interviews, surveys, and participatory workshops, it is observed that, of the 116 municipalities, only seven are in the middle range of the ecotourism vocation index. The main ecotourism practices of these seven municipalities are described along with some recommendations to optimize them. It is concluded that no municipality develops integrated ecotourism. Finally, the use of a methodological guide for community planning is proposed to reformulate “ecotourism” by involving the different local and governmental actors.
2024-06-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Maritza Real Anzola, Helga Geovannini
