Métrica para la sociedad del conocimiento

Resumen
Estamos viviendo una de las mayores revoluciones en la historia de la humanidad, en la que el conocimiento es y será la variable destinada a diferenciar entre los países que ocupan posiciones de liderazgo y aquellos que van a la zaga. Estamos viviendo la fase de transición de la Era Industrial hacia la Sociedad del Conocimiento. Conocer a esos países líderes, según lo señalan las clasificaciones y rankings de organismos multilaterales y del sector privado, es una necesidad para los planificadores y autoridades del mundo en vías de desarrollo, dado que ofrecen experiencias exitosas que pueden permitir mejorar la calidad de vida de nuestros pueblos en un período más breve. Estudiarlas y adaptarlas es un imperativo para sobrevivir.
